It’s the perfect getaway from the city hustle, putting you right in nature’s lap, with some thrills tossed in for good measure. Don’t worry about the ride; a driver will pick you up in a safe and comfortable vehicle from your hotel. On the way, you’ll learn about the history of the Pieniny Mountains and the local culture.

  • Usually tours from Krakow needs at least 2 participants to kick off
  • If you’ve got kids aged 0-13, and need safety seats, give the local supplier a heads up. You can find their contact details on your voucher or booking sites
  • This isn’t a high-speed, adrenaline-pumping activity. It’s a laid-back rafting experience on wooden rafts.
  • The rafting happens rain or shine, so packing a rain jacket and umbrella is a good idea.
  • Entrance to the Niedzica castle isn’t part of the deal. After the rafting, you can use your free time to check out the castle. Remember, you’ll need to pay the entrance fees at the castle itself.

Day trips from Krakow are usually an 8-hour affair, including travel time. You will get the ball rolling in the morning, between 8 and 9, based on what works best for the group. Usually they will pick you up from your hotel, so you can start your day out of the city on the right note. The one-way trip takes about 2.5 hours. The rafting itself covers 18 km down the Dunajec River, lasting around 2 hours and 15 minutes.

When you’re done, your assigned driver/guide will be waiting for you at the final raft stop. Then it’s off to a local restaurant for a homemade dinner.

As you navigate towards the deeper and choppier sections of the river, you’ll get to marvel at the towering peaks of the Pieniny Mountains, including the famous Trzy Korony, along with the steep, rocky mountains, and Sokolica peak.
