There’s something truly special about the Farmers Markets in Krakow. While it may be a challenge to get your hands on home-grown veggies or milk straight from the cow in this city, I know an increasing number of places where you can find sun-kissed tomatoes, eggs from happy chickens, and meat from organic farms.
Farmers Markets – An Eco-Friendly Spots in Krakow
Leading the way among Krakow’s green initiatives is the Targ Pietruszkowy, organized by the association podgorze.pl. If you want a healthy lifestyle, you’ll find natural food here, grown within 150 km of Krakow and sold directly by farmers.
It’s located under the Hala Korony at Kalwaryjska Street 9-15, and also in Independence Square near Korony during the spring-summer season. It is worth to say that it’s open every Wednesday (3 PM – 7 PM) and Saturday (8 AM – 1 PM).

Delicious Breakfasts Market in Kraków
There’s nothing quite like a leisurely and delicious breakfast to start your day off right. However, during a busy week, we usually only have time for a quick sandwich and a coffee to go. But come the weekend, you need to know that you can slow down and head over to the Targ Śniadaniowy with your family or friends.

Another Krakow’s Eco-Market
The eco-trail in Krakow also brings us to places like Plac na Stawach (in the Zwierzyniec district), Old and New Kleparz, or Imbramowski Square, where we can always count on fresh and organic products, straight from home gardens. Let me tell you, don’t be fooled by shiny and perfect-looking fruits and vegetables. The healthiest ones often look less attractive – unwashed, small, and irregular… but boy, do they taste good.
What’s more, the sellers, mostly lovely older ladies, are always willing to chat about almost anything and… always in Polish. If you want to engage in conversation, it might be good to brush up on your Polish vocabulary from your lessons at Varia.
If you’re lacking a market or bazaar in your area, I am convinced that you might find an organic shop selling healthy food. I can tell you about placxes like:
- Naturalny Sklepik (Krupnicza 8, Centrum)
- Pan Zielonka (Dąbrówki 4/1, Podgórze)
- or Natura (Zamenhofa 1, Centrum).
If you need healthy food options, these are definitely worth a visit.
Stara Piekarnia Eco Market
Let me say, you simply can’t miss the artisan and certified organic bread available at the Stara Piekarnia eco-market. I mean, it’s an old bakery location, so it’s pretty much obligatory! If you need the familiarity of your favorite stands from the Ekosfera Mateczny market and many more – brand new ones, this is the place to be.

From Greek-made hummus, fresh fish, Italian delicacies, to on-site pressed olive oil and juices, Stara Piekarnia is bustling with shopping activity. You need to know that it’s not just a market, it’s also a meeting place where you can enjoy wine, the best Italian pizza from the oven, or a grilled sausage.
