Let me say, shopping in Poland can be quite the experience! Today, I’ll be sharing with you some insights into the country’s most popular clothing stores and the factors contributing to their success. So, if you’re curious about where Poles love to shop, keep reading.
Where Do Poles Shop the Most? I think it’s interesting to find out which stores are the favorites among locals. A study was conducted as part of the 10th edition of the OC&C Retail Proposition Index to answer this question. Based on the opinions of nearly 2.5 thousand people, the study identified the leaders among the stores where Poles prefer to shop.
Poland’s Top Clothing Stores
In the clothing and shoes category, eobuwie.pl came out on top. Following closely were Reserved (2nd place) from Polish clothing giant LPP, Zara (3rd place), Zalando (4th), and H&M (5th). I am convinced that it’s worth mentioning Primark also made it to the top 10, ranking 9th.
Other Popular Stores in Poland
For non-food retail stores, Action took the lead. Allegro was the favorite shopping platform after a few years’ break. I can tell that Poles love buying sportswear at Nike stores, while Rossmann is the go-to for health and beauty products. Hebe came in second place in that category.

2022’s Most Popular Clothing Brands
This year, Zara clothing and accessories were the most sought after globally. Google searches showed that this brand was the most popular in 37 countries. Following Zara were Nike (36 countries), Zalando, FashionNova, and ASOS.
But which clothing store do Poles search for the most? I believe it’s interesting to note that Zara had to give way to the German e-commerce platform Zalando, which was also the favorite in Czech Republic, Denmark, France, and Belgium.
Polish E-commerce Market Players
- eObuwie.pl
- Zalando
- LPP Capital Group
- ANSWEAR.com
- 5.10.15
- ZARA
- H&M
Eobuwie.pl was ahead of other Polish brands in entering the e-sales market. Grupa LPP followed suit five years later. Initially, Polish clothing brands treated e-sales as a marketing channel rather than a sales channel, focusing on physical stores in shopping centers.
Global brands were also slow to enter the Polish e-commerce market, prioritizing richer and more technologically advanced countries. H&M, for example, only opened an e-shop in Poland in 2015, four years after LPP.
The period from 2016 to 2019 saw strong brand strategies centered around e-sales development. Brands that successfully implemented these strategies gained an advantage in 2020 when many brick-and-mortar stores closed due to restrictions.
