The Legendary „Okrąglak”

This is place where you order the food in „Okrąglak”

Okay, this might not be a restaurant per se, but „Okrąglak” is an absolute must-visit culinary spot in Kazimierz. Nestled in the heart of the square, this place is housed in a historic shopping pavilion that dates back to 1900.

It’s an important symbol of Krakow, carrying a lot of history, especially from the times of the People’s Republic of Poland. They make this awesome casserole out of a famous round cake that’s practically the locals’ go-to food. So, if you want to truly experience the city, start with this casserole. Trust me, it’s worth it.

The Charming „Alchemia od Kuchni”

Next up, smack in the heart of Kazimierz, right next to the popular club and cafe Alchemia, we find „Alchemia od Kuchni„. This is a cozy little place, offering a variety of street food from all around the globe. Think breakfast sets, soups, burgers, fish & chips, main dishes – you name it. The menu might be short, but it sure is packed with flavor, making it a spot where everyone can find something to enjoy.

Catching Vibes at „Plac Nowy 1”

Restaurant at „Plac Nowy 1” Kazimierz

„Plac Nowy 1” is one of the hippest joints on the Kazimierz map. It’s pretty big and spacious, so finding a table for a large group on a busy Saturday night won’t be an issu. The place is decked out with a unique, industrial vibe, yet it still manages to maintain that special Kazimierz feel.

Their menu includes both European and American grub (trust me, the burgers are worth a try). But let me say this, „Plac Nowy 1” offers more than just tasty food. They’ve got a bowling alley too! With its great location and unique offerings, this spot is perfect for an enjoyable evening with your friends.

The Italian Gem „Nolio”

The Italian „Nolio” in Kraków / Kazimierz

„Nolio” is a real gem. It’s one of the few places in Poland that can brag about having the Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana (AVPN) certificate. What’s that, you ask? Well, it’s a guarantee that the pizza you get here will be exactly like the ones in Naples, Italy.

Once you step into this place, you can be sure that all the dishes are made from top-notch ingredients. Now, the decor might be on the modest side, and you might find a queue at the entrance pretty much any time of the day, but I think it’s worth the wait. Trust me, you wouldn’t want to miss out on these simple and authentic Italian dishes.

„Warsztat” – A Foodie’s Workshop

„Warsztat” – A Restaurant’s Interior / Kraków – Kazimierz

„Warsztat” – it translates to Workshop – is a big hit among the locals. With two spots not far from Plac Nowy, they serve dishes from different parts of the globe, with a special love for Italian cuisine. The joint is famous for its pasta – I can tell you it’s absolutely mouthwatering. They have a wide variety of meals and snacks to choose from.

This place is perfect when you’re super hungry – the generous portions have conquered many a stomach, and the prices are pretty friendly too. You’ll pay about PLN 35-40 for pasta, PLN 33 for pizza, and PLN 36 for meat dishes.

A big bonus is you can order half a portion, and you can also take leftovers home. And hey, they’ve got a third spot, „Warsztat” on Miodowa Street (also in Kazimierz), where they serve traditional Polish dishes like dumplings, stuffed cabbage, and borscht.

The Unique „Kolanko no 6”

Kolanko no 6 / Restaurant in Kazimierz – Kraków

Next up is „Kolanko no 6” – a restaurant with a quirky name that nods to its history as a plumbing shop. It’s a crowd-pleaser thanks to its extensive menu that features sweet and savory pancakes, salads, Mexican soups, Indian dishes, Greek moussaka, and desserts, all at very reasonable prices.

The restaurant is roomy and has a beautiful, atmospheric garden at the back. It’s also open in winter, thanks to insulation. Many locals hail it as the most beautiful garden in Krakow. Plus, the place is a hub for the „Magazyn Kultury” Foundation, so you can often catch local artists’ concerts, photo exhibitions, and even dance parties.

Savoring History at „Mleczarnia

Mleczarnia Restaurant – Kaziemierz District in Kraków

Mleczarnia” is an intriguing spot where you can sip fresh, aromatic coffee amidst old paintings and photos in hefty frames. The heavy, antique furniture adds a unique charm to the place. The pub also opens up to a garden, perfect for enjoying drinks on warm summer nights, with a wide range of offerings. Classic drinks, sophisticated cocktails, coffee and cake during the day – their pastries are incredibly tasty and unique. This is definitely a spot I’d recommend in Kazimierz.
