It takes about an hour (50 km) to get to Sromowce Kąty, the starting point of the Dunajec rafting trip. The trip itself takes 2 to 3 hours, depending on the water level of the Dunajec River. During the trip you’ll float 18 km downstream to Szczawnica. If you arrive by car, minibuses or coaches in Szczawnica will take you back to the parking lot in Sromowce Kąty. To avoid queues for tickets and rafts on sunny holiday days, it’s best to start your rafting adventure early in the morning.

A Great Fun for the Entire Family
For families with older children (over 10 years old) I recommend pontoon rafting on the Dunajec canyon. Although this version of rafting is a little more expensive, it guarantees an unforgettable experience for everyone.
Daily rafting trips are organized from Zakopane. In addition to rafting, you’ll have the opportunity to visit the castle and dam in Niedzica and the historic church in Dębno. I personally recommend splyw.pl, the main organizer from Zakopane, as they not only provide a simple transfer, but also professionally arrange the whole day with additional attractions.
